SELF DEFENSE

All Techniques demonstrated on a partner in order, from memory, right and left handed.
For each level there is a written Japanese Terminology test.
Please consult a Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu Instructor for descriptions of techniques or view the techniques below.
 

SELF DEFENSE REQUIREMENTS
USED IN ALL CLASSES and RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE
BELOW IS MASTER ELLIS IN WHITE AS THE ATTACKER

AND MASTER MOORE IN BLACK AS THE DEFENDER

Some things to know before practicing:

1 Do not try and hurt your partner (you need them)

2 Learn to tap (that means give up, something hurts, stop)

3 Before being throw, learn to fall (learn from a teacher or the DVD course)

4 Do not snap the arm in the wrong direction when applying a Straight Arm Bar (to your partner)

5 Practice on different size people. (attackers come in all shapes and sizes)

6 Practice slow until you have each technique memorized and mastered.

(practice at least 100 times each to use in real life, practice over 1,000 times to master)

 

 

 

SAME SIDE WRIST GRAB

1 Rake Face

2 Kick Groin

3 Bring your Captured hand up like you are looking at your palm

4 Reach under his hand and capture it with your free hand

(Your fingers in his palm and your thumb near his ring finger knuckle)

5 Wrist lock to the Ground

CROSS WRIST GRAB

1 Rake Face

2 Kick Groin

3 Bring Captured Hand up to the Outside of His Wrist (your palm facing him)

4 Capture is Hand with your free Hand

TWO HANDED WRIST GRAB

1 Rake Face

3 Bring Captured Hand up to the Outside of His Wrist (your palm facing him)

1 Spread your Arms

3 Circle both of your Arms in a Counterclockwise Motion

1 When he Spins you, duck down and cover

GROIN KICK

1 Turn Your Face towards his Ribs to Protect against a Punch
